What's the opportunity?

We are looking for a Tech Director with experience in building products for consumers or small businesses. You’ll drive technical leadership of a creative and hyper-intelligent merchandising app that fashion and lifestyle merchants love to work with, working closely with product & design to create a delightful, pixel-perfect user experience. Within a small team, you will be fully 'hands-on' in building our product, while possessing the ability to lead a core team of tenured engineers.

How you will make an impact

• Drive the pace, velocity, and ambition of the engineering team
• Align technical, merchant, product and business needs
• Set and implement the technical vision, direction and standards for the company
• Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement across tech/process/people
• Lead, motivate, and coach performance/feedback to build a lovable product that sells
• Make daily decisions & tradeoffs between speed/quality to find the best solutions
• Determine different solutions for different situations: e.g. features, platform

What skills do you need?

• +7  years experience consumer-facing product-led growth and distribution with 2+ years in a lead role
• Experience with our stack: a React Typescript Frontend and a modern, well-typed Python (fastapi, pydantic) backend. Our Infrastructure runs on Kubernetes in GCP with ArgoCD
• Strong track record of delivering impactful features in high quality web applications, ideally within B2C / B2B SaaS
• Ideally experience in an Editor-type product: customisable/creative for the many
• Able to create a forward vision about what AI can do to from both a development and feature point of view
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills: ability to listen, align, and challenge to build a high trust, high performance team even without a direct report line
• Entrepreneurial, and at times hacker-mindset, able to manage through uncertainty and reduce complexity
• Passionate about their impact and able to motivate others
